Religions of the world

There are an estimated 4,200 religions in the world. However, this number can vary depending on how one defines "religion" and how one counts the different belief systems that exist.

Major religions of the world are:

• Christianity, founded by Jesus of Nazareth

• Islam, founded by Prophet Muhammad

• Hinduism, with no single founder, evolved over thousands of years

• Buddhism, founded by Gautam Buddha

• Sikhism founded by Guru Nanak

• Judaism's origins can be traced to the biblical figure of Abraham.

These religions have the largest number of followers across the world. In addition, there are many other religions that have a large number of followers, such as the Chinese traditional religion, Baha'i religion, Jainism, Shintoism, Confucianism, and many indigenous religions.
